Biography
Roy Dahan is a singer-songwriter, composer, and pianist whose music is hard to define and impossible to forget. Born in Israel, he has spent years traveling and performing across the world — from intimate venues in Tel Aviv to a 2014 European tour spanning Berlin, Vienna, London, and Luxembourg — carrying his grand piano and his stories wherever he goes.
Live performance — piano & harp duo
His 2011 debut, Some of This Life, announced an extraordinary voice. Named Best Album of the Year by TimeOut Tel Aviv, it produced two radio hits — "Does Anyone Know" and "State of Mind" — and established Dahan as one of the most distinctive singer-songwriters of his generation. Two more albums followed: The Man in My Head (2013) and Through The Woods (2016), each deepening a sound that critics called "beautiful and tough to explain — but easy to love."
Away from the stage, Dahan is a nature photographer whose exhibitions have shown in Luxembourg and California — and, in a former life, a gardener who spent years with his hands in the soil, growing food. That same patient attention to what grows slowly and without fanfare is what you hear in his music.
Today he lives on the jungle side of Hawaii's Big Island, writing, recording, and composing. His latest project, Roy's Piano Tunes, is a solo piano album of 22 original compositions accompanied by a three-volume book of 52 pieces — a body of work as unhurried and alive as the place he now calls home.
